Where to Find Proof of Rabies Vaccine

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Your pet's rabies vaccination record is in your Adopterluv account under Vaccination Records, where you can view it, download it, or share it.

Landlords, boarding kennels, groomers, day care, and city licensing all usually ask for this document.

Where to find it

  1. Sign in to your Adopterluv account.

  2. OpenĀ Vaccination Records.

  3. Find the rabies entry. You can download it or share it directly.

If you also need the adoption paperwork or medical history, those are underĀ Important Documents. See View and Upload Pet Documents in Your Account

If the rabies record is not there

The records in your account are the ones the organization you adopted from sent over. If the rabies entry is missing or looks wrong, contact them directly. They can correct it at the source and the update flows through to your account.

If your pet has been vaccinated since the adoption, the record will be with the vet who gave it rather than with the shelter. You can upload a copy to your account so everything is in one place.

A note on what this document is

A rabies certificate is not the same as a rabies tag. The certificate is the paperwork naming the pet, the vaccine and the date. The tag is the metal disc for the collar. Most organizations asking for "proof of rabies" mean the certificate.

Adopterluv stores and reminds you about vaccination records. We are not a veterinary practice, so we cannot issue a certificate, give medical advice or book an appointment. For those, contact your vet.
